Description

An amazing James II antique silver lidded tankard. Made in London in 1688 probably by St John Hoyle. This tankard has a full set of hallmarks on top of the lid and on the side of the body, there is also a makers mark on the handle. There are marrige initials "M*S" on the handle. The lid is a tight fit . The tankard is in incredible condition although there is a sign of a very old small solder repair on the bottom of the handle. This 337 year old piece of silver is remarkable, the hallmarks are crisp and it has a wonderful colour and is a real survivor.
