Royal Lincolnshire Regiment ''Egypt'' Sweetheart Brooch – Circa 1935–45
A well-made sweetheart brooch for the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment, likely dating to the late interwar or early Second World War period. Formed as a starburst with a textured silver-tone ground and a gilt central roundel, the brooch is enamelled in deep blue with the regimental sphinx and the word EGYPT, commemorating the regiment’s early 19th-century service in Egypt.
The reverse is fitted with the original period clasp of folded brass wire—typical of sweetheart jewellery manufactured by J.R. Gaunt, though this example is unsigned.
Date: Circa 1935–1945
Dimensions: 3 x 3 x 1.5 cm
Condition: Good vintage condition with minor surface wear. The enamel remains intact and the pin fitting secure.
A genuine piece of sentimental military jewellery worn to show pride and connection with a serving soldier of the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment.
