Formed as a starburst with a textured silver-tone ground and a gilt central roundel, the brooch is enamelled in deep blue with the regimental sphinx and the word EGYPT, commemorating the regiment�s early 19th-century service in Egypt.The reverse is fitted with the original period clasp of folded brass wire�typical of sweetheart jewellery manufactured by J.R.
