Mid 20th Century Silver and Abalone Brooch � c.1950A nicely made mid-century brooch set with an oval abalone shell, mounted in a hand-tooled silver frame with scalloped edge and twisted border.Marked to the reverse with rubbed ''SIL'' stamp, indicating silver. Probably of Mexican or other international origin, circa 1950s�70s.The abalone shell displays strong natural colour with iridescent blue, green and violet tones. Age-related surface wear and patina to the metal.
