Antique Victorian Silver & Leather Hip Flask – Birmingham 1890
A good Victorian silver and leather hip flask, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1890 (cup) and 1891 (lid), by Colen Hewer Cheshire.
The upper section is clad in dark hide leather with a central viewing panel, over a glass body. Silver bayonet cap and detachable silver drinking cup with silver gilt interior. Matching hallmarks to lid and cup.
Dimensions: 14 cm high × 7.5 cm wide × 3.5 cm deep
Condition: Good condition commensurate with age. The glass is intact without damage. Silver well preserved with clearly struck hallmarks. Leather worn in places but intact. The catch to the cap is secure and functional.
A well-made and usable late 19th-century flask from a respected maker.
