Brief Description:

This is an incredibly rare original 18th-century French Niderviller Faience Lion from the Count Custine Period.

Finely modelled as a Lion seated atop an irregular faux naturalistic base with a long, bushy mane, an adorable facial expression and a winding, brown tail.

The piece is entirely original, and it is free from any previous repairs or restoration.

The very tip of the tail is missing, and there are a few very minor surface cracks to the faux naturalistic base - see images.
