This is a good original pair of metal lawn tennis posts made by F.H. Ayres, London.
One of the posts fitted with a crank handle to tighten the net this mechanism is all in brass and works very smoothly
The cast iron bases read 'F.H. Ayres Patent Championship Tennis Post', the top caps 'F.H. Ayres, London' with their trade mark 'Maltese Cross’.
The posts are 43” high, and 15” x 13” at the floor
