A molded and enamelled teapot in soft-paste porcelain, produced in Liverpool circa 1775 and attributed to the Philip Christian factory. The body is formed with relief panels, alternating chinoiserie figures and floral motifs, enriched with hand-painted enamels and gilt accents. The domed cover features molded ribs and a pierced vent. Christian operated the Liverpool works from 1765 to 1778, having taken over William Reid’s factory. His wares, often influenced by Worcester, display a distinctive glaze and modeling style associated with regional production. Examples are held in museum collections, notably the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (C.52\&A-1932). ...
