Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

George III style furniture, dating from 1760 to 1820, is recognised for classical proportions, fine cabinetmaking, and graceful turned or tapered legs. Pieces from this era often feature rich woods such as mahogany and balanced, functional forms.

18th-century English stools were typically crafted from solid mahogany, walnut, or oak, with seats upholstered using natural horsehair, webbing, and hand-stitched needlepoint or tapestry textiles. Brass studs were often applied for structural trim.

Authentic Georgian seating demonstrates traditional mortise and tenon joinery, hand-turned legs with natural slight variations, and genuine age-related patination on timber surfaces. Original textile covers often display hand-worked wool stitching on canvas.

A tall circular antique stool functions well as an occasional seat, an elevated plant display stand, or a decorative accent in a reading nook. Its slender profile allows it to add warmth and historic texture without cluttering smaller spaces.

Dust timber regularly with a soft cloth and apply beeswax sparingly to preserve the wood finish. Keep needlepoint upholstery out of direct sunlight to prevent thread fading and clean gently using a low-suction vacuum attachment.
