Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The main vessel is the Australian four mast iron ship, the SV Port Jackson, built circa 1890.

This model ship is extraordinary in its modelling and detail. It is shown in full sail with accurate rigging and a finely detailed deck.

The diorama has a distance cost line and a small island, which from research seems to resemble a view of the entrance to the Australian Port Jackson, New South Wales.
The ship, sea and landscape are all beautifully hand pained – a real work of art.

The diorama comes with a hardwood stand custom made for displaying the bottle together with a Bakelite type plaque engraved with SV Port Jackson, circa 1890.
This fine, very large example is in very good original condition.
English or possibly Australian, circa 1920-30.
Height of bottle 14cm x width 51cm x depth 14cm
Height including stand 20cm
