Description

Beautifully detailed Grand Tour watercolour of the Arch of Titus and the Colosseum in Rome signed by the well known English landscape and townscape painter Louisa Fennell (1847-1930). Between 1876 and 1882 she exhibited 11 works at the Royal Society of British Artists, mostly views of Rome of which this is probably one. Signed 'L. Fennell' to the left in the shadow. Superb painting, circa 1880.
