Description

A good quality Victorian twin fusee drop dial wall clock. A 12" silvered, engraved dial signed 'E Stringer, Stourbridge'. Decorative blued steel hands. A coromandel case with a lovely grain and a brass bezel surround. Mother of pearl inlays to the octagonal dial surround and the trunk section. A visible pendulum glass aperture. Twin side doors with sound fretting. An 8-day duration, double fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell. Circa 1865.

Edwin Stringer of Stourbridge is listed in Loomes 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1860-76.
