A rare Barr, Flight and Barr Worcester cabinet cup, cover and stand, circa 1805. Of goblet shape with angular handles, the domed cover with an urn finial, finely painted probably by John Pennington, with a panel containing a monochrome landscape on a yellow background, reserved on a ''Barr''s Orange'' ground richly highlighted with an unusual geometric gold border including leopards'' heads and Greek key design,, 15.8cm high overall, incised ''B'' mark to saucer, and script mark with Coventry St address and Royal Patronage to the underside of the cup and lid.
A similar shape example is illustrated by Charles Dawson, Worcester Flight & Barr Porcelain (2023), p.127, fig.11.14. A Flight and Barr example of this form, marked with incised B marks and painted with feathers was sold by Bonhams on 12 September 2007, lot 231.
Condition: Professional restoration to a chip to the inside of the rear of the cup and associated crack. The finial is a replacement.
