N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The coffer bach is of lovely small proportions and the top is of a simple two plank construction which lifts off. The coffer bach has two beautifully carved panels below the top and then there are two drawers below which have also been nicely carved. This is an very heavy piece making it a nice sturdy piece of furniture.
The coffer bach has all the features you would expect from an early piece such pegged joint and wear.
This piece could be used in many room in the home and add an air of elegance wherever it is placed. In addition to being used as a coffer bach this could equally be used as a lamp stand with useful storage.
The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are:
24 3/4 inches (63 cm) wide.
14 1/2 inches (37 cm) deep
16 1/4 inches (41.5 cm) high
As can be seen from the above dimensions this coffer bach is of lovely small proportions.
CONDITION:
From the photographs you can see that this is an lovely piece of furniture which has a lovely rich patina which can only be gained through age. This piece is in the region of 240 years old and as such has all the wear and marks which come with this age. There are odd chips to the piece and a few long dead woodworm holes all of which are to be expected and can be seen from the photographs which have been taken from all sides. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition, as what you view is exactly what you will receive.
Overall it is a wonderful coffer bach stand and will look super in any room it is placed, so happy bidding.
