Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Wiener Werkstatte glass, established in early 20th-century Vienna, is characterised by geometric purity, architectural forms, and innovative cut-to-clear overlay techniques. Designers such as Otto Prutscher integrated precise architectural motifs into decorative stemware, blending traditional craft with avant-garde aesthetics.

These flutes were mouth-blown using high-lead crystal, often featuring a layered coloured casing, known as overlay glass, over a clear core. Artisans then hand-carved geometric patterns through the coloured layer to expose the transparent glass beneath, creating vivid contrast.

Authentic examples feature razor-sharp geometric cuts, balanced hand-cut stems, and exceptional glass clarity without modern moulding seams. Many pieces bear acid-etched maker marks, artist monograms, or original foil labels near the foot.

Display coloured stemware inside an illuminated glass cabinet, on a metal bar cart, or as accent pieces atop a modern sideboard. Their bold cobalt hue and sharp geometric silhouettes create striking visual contrast against neutral backdrops.

Hand wash each flute individually in warm, soapy water using a mild liquid detergent and a soft cloth, avoiding sudden water temperature changes that cause thermal shock. Dry immediately with a lint-free microfibre towel to prevent water spots and preserve brilliance.
