A particularly delightful short long case or grandmother clock by John Gilkes of Shipston 1707-1789.
This may well have started life as a wall clock in the early 1700''s but is now in a Grandmother sized case of oak, elm and mahogany which has some age to it.
The movement has been replaced at some point with a late 18th/early 19th century 8 day long case movement, recently serviced and keeping good time. not uncommon for early clocks unfortunately.
5''7'' tall, 15'' wide by 9.5'' deep
