A17thc oak wainscot carved arm chair with rockers c1680.
The carving is original and wonderful.
It measures 103cms h 74cms ( inc rockers) d,and 59cms wide.
We are certain the chair is totally original ,apart from the rexine c1880 covering the seat squab .
See v.chinnery " traditions of oak" and bebb,s "welsh furniture" for comparable oak rocking chairs.
See last pics to show where the original rope holes are to hold the loose seat.
It has a good rich colour and patina and all carving is original.
