A late Victorian davenport in rosewood with boxwood marquetry inlay, dating to around 1880. The sloped writing surface is inset with a tooled leather panel and lifts to reveal storage beneath. Four drawers run down one side, mirrored with faux drawers on the side, each fitted with the original brass swan-neck handles. Decorative scrolling supports and panelled sides with inlaid motifs complete the design. Raised on small castors for mobility. A finely detailed example of late 19th-century English craftsmanship.
