Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Famille Rose is a style of Chinese export porcelain characterised by overglaze enamel painting featuring predominantly pink hues, derived from colloidal gold. Introduced during the late Kangxi period in the early 18th century, it reached its stylistic peak during the Qianlong reign (17361795).

These ceramics were crafted from high-fired hard-paste porcelain composed of kaolin clay and petuntse (china stone). The decorative elements relied on opaque lead-based overglaze enamels and iron-red accents applied over a clear glaze.

Authentic pieces display distinct hand-painted brushwork with slight irregularities, foot rims showing unglazed kaolin clay, and characteristic wear to the gilded or enameled areas. Metal mounts or pewter lids often show natural patination and historic fitting techniques.

Antique Chinese porcelain works well as a focal accent on a minimalist sideboard, within a glass display cabinet, or styled alongside contemporary ceramics to provide historical contrast and texture.

Clean enamelled porcelain using warm water and a mild non-abrasive liquid soap applied gently with a soft cloth. Avoid submersing metal-mounted sections, refrain from using chemical cleaners, and never place antique ceramics in a dishwasher.
