Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the late nineteenth century, Tiffany & Co. partnered with renowned Swiss horologists in Geneva to produce high-grade mechanical pocket watches. These timepieces typically combined Swiss precision movements with fine American gold cases, featuring enamelled dials and Roman numerals.

Victorian mechanical pocket watches are constructed using solid gold or silver cases, vitrified enamel dials, blued steel hands, and internal brass gearing with synthetic ruby or sapphire jewels to reduce friction.

Authentic pieces feature clear maker stamps on the dial and internal movement, along with standard 18k hallmarks and matching serial numbers stamped inside the pocket watch case covers.

Pocket watches can be integrated into contemporary decor by displaying them under a glass dome cloche, mounted on a dedicated brass pocket watch stand, or placed inside a velvet-lined shadow box frame.

Keep the timepiece in a dry environment away from strong magnetic fields. Solid gold cases should be wiped with a microfiber cloth, and internal mechanical movements require professional horological servicing every three to five years.
