Description

This impressive cast iron and white brass fender dates to the middle of the nineteenth century and as you can see its a tour de force of Victorian craftmanship and exuberance. Decorated with wonderful polychromed phoenix, fish, and foliate swags, along with a super representation of the green man in the central panel, this fender will draw admiration and create conversation. At some stage in its past, it has been sensitively restored - the white brass rail and finials have been polished and lacquered, otherwise I cannot see any areas of damage or repair. Here are the fenders interior measurements so you can judge whether it will fit your hearth - 137 cm long x 36.5 cm deep.
