For sale, this rare Sunderland style pink lustre jug depicting the opening of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway, dating circa 1830. This rare transfer print jug, picked out in black transfer under a pink lustre glaze. The jug is in good unrestored condition and only has light wear to the glaze and very slight bruising to the glaze as shown in the pics. There are two small chips to the spout, one pre glaze, so part of its manufacture. There are also a couple of spots of slight glaze loss. The jug is approx. 15cm tall and 19cm wide handle to spout. The jug covers a wide range for collectors of Railway Memorabilia, Transportation, Transfer printed English pottery and Porcelain, and Sunderland Lustre ware. A rare item now around two hundred years old in and good condition.
