Rare Pair Of Georgian York Silver Table Salts Hampston Prince & Cattles 1801

A very attractive pair of York provincial silver pedestal table salts, of boat shape with lovely cast reeded side handles. Similar triple reeded bands are applied along the rims and around the top of the foot. Gilt washed inside. They bear on one side a nicely engraved family crest of a griffin head erased holding a deer foreleg in its beak. Hallmarked to the base with the leopard''s head, King''s head, lion passant, date letter for 1801 and makers mark for Hampston, Prince and Cattles (John Hampston, John Prince, Robert Cattle & George Cattle I).
 
The measure 8.2cm (3 1/4'') high to the handles, 13cm (5 1/16'') wide and 5.6cm (2 1/4'') deep. They weigh combined 198g / 6.40zt.
 
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or dents and minor handling wear.
