Each chair features a shaped and pierced vase splat back beneath a delicately carved shell motif at the crest, typical of the Queen Anne to early Georgian transition.

The chairs stand on boldly carved cabriole legs to the front, terminating in finely detailed claw-and-ball feet, while the rear legs are gently raked for stability. The knee carving features acanthus leaf decoration, a hallmark of high craftsmanship from the period.
