Country House and Eastern Interiors has dated this Antique Khamseh Morghi Carpet to the 1900s.
By one of the arab groups of the khamseh confederation.
Beautiful carpet sized weaving known as a morghi pattern basically pecking chickens.
But in this weaving there are far more tribal motifs than just pecking chickens including geometric peacocks,animal and bird forms with floral arrangements from their backs,rosettes,s-shaped motifs and other tribal motifs densely arranged throughout the royal blue field colour.

Beautifully bound side cords in typical arab fashion of numerous colours.
All ends and sides secured. Including an extensive de-dusting last images.
All over even pile. Overall a lovely large sized tribal carpet.

Just under 10 foot by 7 foot 3 inches. 304cm X 222cm. At widest points. Fringes not measured in size. All woollen construction with four rows of dark brown weft threads per line of knots. A densely woven carpet.
