Antique Aesthetic Movement Chest of 5 Drawers

A fantastic condition chest of drawers with great style.

We are delighted to bring to you this rare example of a late Aesthetic Movement chest of drawers made at the end of the Victorian period around C1890-1900 from solid Satin Walnut. The chest consists of 5 deep descending drawers which each feature line details typical of the Aesthetic movement to each drawer with black details around the top edge and plinth. This stunning chest of drawers has an idyllic light tone which contrasts beautifully with the black details and its dark original handles which have great patina. The chest is complete with all of its original lever locks (no key) to each drawer behind its lovely brass keyhole escutcheons. This quality chest of drawers is in an outstanding condition and has its original French polished finish. The drawers are well constructed using dovetailed joints and are particularly clean inside. This chest of drawers is in stunning condition with no joint movement or splits or evidence of woodworm and the drawers are smoothly operating with little to no drawer wear and do not drop when opened .

The chest of drawers has been carefully revived, cleaned and waxed, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen. This lovely chest of drawers is in home ready condition and is fit for every day use for many more years to come.

Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs below. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents, however, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
