Description

A 20 drawer watkins & doncaster, the strand, london mahogany collectors cabinet.

This cabinet is the de-luxe version being constructed entirely of figured mahogany.

One owner, (now deceased), from new and obtained from one of the prestigeous oxford colleges.

A the end of the 19th century watkins & doncaster were the most prolific makers and suppliers of natural history collectors cabinets of all types, this one was designed to hold an entomological collection. It will now serve many different collecting pursuits as the perfect receptacle for the protection and display of many different collectables.

Currently the drawers are cork based with blue lining paper. Re-lining by request is one of our specialities. Please enquire.

Original lock and key and riding on the original set of hidden casters.

Al questions welcome and delivery can be arranged.
