Antique silver Rotherhams half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a ¾ plate stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Birmingham 1902, with a maker’s mark for John Rotherham, of the English watch makers Rotherham & Sons. The case has engine turned detail to both the front and back, some rubbing to the detail and a hint of gentle unevenness to the back. The front cover has blue enamel filled Roman numerals surrounding a central lens.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.

Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in lovely condition.

The dial has its original pin set blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed. The dial has a couple of very faint hairlines, difficult to see with the naked eye.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
