Pair of Edwardian Silver French Style Mazarin Chandeliers by G.e.c

An extremely good quality pair of Edwardian silver plated antique Mazarin chandeliers in the French style by G.E.C. Each chandelier has six curved arms featuring the head of the deity Ammon, which are embellished with leaf design and terminate to reeded and foliate bobeche trays, finished with decorative cups.

The main body of the chandelier is adorned with 3 female term figures, and fluted and gadroon detail which finishes with a finial underneath.. When lit the beautifully cast chandeliers glistens, highlighting the superb quality.

The chandeliers hang on 18 cm chains and come with their original 11 cm deep ceiling roses. The silver has been cleaned and lacquered and the lights have been rewired and are in working order.

Both chandeliers are stamped on the ceiling roses and on the mounts with the makers name G.E.C Made in England?.

G.E.C (General Electric Company) was established in London in the 1880s by Gustav Binswanger. By the 1890s the company had expanded opening new factories manufacturing lighting and exporting around the world.
