Exceptionally Fine Solid Silver and Cut & Engraved Glass ‘Daisy’ Pattern Claret Jug by William Davenport, Birmingham, 1906.
The silver collar and lid hallmarked for 1906 silver. The collar is additionally struck with ‘WH’, for William Davenport.
The crystal body and the silver collar are both profusely decorated with daisies. The glass body is wheel cut with daisies, with an engraved star cut base. The silver collar is engraved with daisy designs.
Approx. height to the top of the thumb piece 23cms; approx. weight 561grs.
Condition is very good indeed. Some very small nibbles to the base MAY have been polished out. But these could equally be manufacturing imperfections, there from the outset - see the final few photos. Either way, these are only really visible when the base is turned over. Silver work is excellent.
A rare and beautiful piece.
