Lincoln Restorations has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
An incredibly rare and wonderfully ornate piece.
The desk features a rear shelf supported on 2 drawer podiums either side complete with a back panel, all of which is very ornately inlaid and strung. The desks top features the a lovely black full grain gold tooled writing desk leather which we have replaced so is in perfect condition and is framed by its stunning strung inlays.

The base consists of a kneehole design incorporating 5 drawers with the centre being longer and locking via its original brass lever lock and key. Each drawer on this stunning piece displays a skillfully inlaid marquetry incorporating bluebells and foliage which is all framed with Boxwood & Ebony stringings complete with its original polished brass knobs throughout. The Desk also has some lovely extra details including inlaid brackets to the kneehole of a shell design going to 2 drop finials either side of the kneehole. The desk stands proudly on 4 typical Edwardian square tapering legs incorporating bluebell inlays to the front with stringings along most sides culminating to its lovely original polished brass square cup castors, making the desk easy to move around.

Each of the 9 drawers in this desk is beautifully crafted with the finest dovetail joints and as a small sign of cabinetry quality the drawers in the base be removed and fit back in up-side down, meaning that the carcass and drawers are perfectly crafted and are square.

This stunning collectors piece is truly a wonder to behold and is complete with its lightly faded glazed French polished finish which we have just carefully cleaned, waxed and enhanced making this desk ready to shine in any home.

This stunning desk has been sympathetically restored in our workshop to the upmost standard.
There is no movement or play in any of the joints, the drawers all operate smoothly and are without notable wear.

Please note this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have minor imperfections in places.
