Stunning First Period Worcester Porcelain James Giles Urn Vase Dessert Dish C.1770

A stunning Worcester porcelain lobed dessert dish / soup plate with a rich ''wet'' blue ground and decorated in the London atelier of James Giles. Raised and tooled gilding of a gilt grape vine running around the outer edge and a stylised border framing the circular central reserve. The centre is painted with a large neoclassical urn style vase set on a stepped base. Sprays of garden flowers in bright enamels spill out from the top with others scattered around the base. A couple of other small sprigs are used to hide tiny kiln spots in the glaze. Blue hatched square mark to the base, c.1770.
 
It measures 21.5cm (8 1/2'') wide and 3.2cm (1 1/4'') high.
 
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and very minor handling wear.
