Large Antique Strapwork Garden Bench

19th century
Description

A good example of a wrought iron strapwork bench dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It is a particularly large size, comfortably seating 4 people. It is an elegant shape and stands on scrolling legs with an attractive green painted finish.

It is in good condition for its age and displays well. There are no major damages or losses and it is strong and sturdy. There is some wear to the paint and minor patches of surface rust in places but nothing detrimental. Some slight bending / distortion in some of the straps but nothing untoward and structurally the bench is in very good order. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready for use.
