Description

A good set of 4 wheelback farmhouse dining chairs dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. They have shaped elm seats and spindle backs with the distinctive wheel shaped centre splat and they stand on turned legs joined by H-stretchers. The set of 4 are a mix of 2+2 matching pairs with slight variations to the turning in the legs and back supports but the whole set displays very well together and are all the same rich colour.

The chairs stand approximately 35" (89cm) high. The seats are 15 1/2" (39.5cm) deep, 15" (38cm) wide and between 17 3/4" (45cm) to 18 1/2" (47cm) high.

They are all in good condition and are strong and sturdy with no major damages. There are signs of age and use, some marks and light knocks on the seats and around the legs and minor old shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental. They have been gently cleaned and polished and are ready for use.
