Webberley Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The back filled with a radiating design of carved honeysuckle centred with an oval reserve.

Very heavy and solid without any weakness at the joints and with original timbers throughout.
There is an old and fine repair to the seat board and some small and old repairs to the oval carved reserve in the centre of the back. Shown in our photos.

Beautiful usable and comfortable.
Despite its weight the chair has a light and elegant appearance with a newly recovered gold silk squab cushion.
Dimensions are:
24.5 inches wide, 20.5 inches deep, 38 inches high.
Floor to seat is 17 inches without the cushion, and 18.5 inches with.
For metric please multiply by 2.5
