Rare Victorian Silver Cased Glass Chatelaine Scent Bottle, Circa 1880

Description

This exquisite Victorian silver chatelaine scent bottle dates circa 1880. The silver baluster body pierced with intricate patterns. The hinged lid opening to reveal an inner glass scent bottle and stopper. The sides fitted with suspension loops and decorative silver chain.

Hallmarks:

Unmarked as was very often the case with small scent bottles but tested as silver.

Dimensions:

Height (excluding chain): 5.5cm / 2.1 inches.

Diameter: 4cm / 1.5 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

No loss to the silver casing.

Strong hinge.

Complete with stopper.
