A French 18 karat (18K) yellow gold charm pendant designed as a shield of the coat of arms for the City of Paris, depicting a yacht or boat in full sail surrounded by a pierced laurel wreath, enhanced by plique-a-jour enamel work. Stamped with the eagle’s head for 18 karat gold and French manufacture, and an unknown maker’s mark.
 
The motto that goes with this coat of arms is ''fluctuat nec mergitur'' which translates as: ''rocked (by waves), it does not sink''.
