Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1900s.
In one drawer is the book: “Fly Dresser’s Guide” by John Veniard, whilst the lock is engraved with the name and address of the makers/retailers. The cabinet measures: 12.5ins wide; 9.5ins high and 9.5ins front-to-back.

Joseph Eaton started making fishing tackle early in the 19th century and by 1860 he teamed up with Lee Deller and opened his shop Eaton & Deller at No.6 Crooked Lane, London. For many decades this shop was a haven for fishing enthusiasts, finally ceasing trade in 1935.
