Tinker & Toad has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This rare French chaise longue features a classic tufted button leather upholstery in cigar brown.

It features richly grained and carved wood side panels, with detailed C-scroll motifs at both the head and foot ends. It stands on well-carved bracket feet and presents a strong, balanced profile typical of the period.

The chaise has been professionally refreshed by an upholsterer. The leather has been cleaned, treated, and nourished, then carefully waxed and polished by hand. The woodwork has also been cleaned and re-polished to bring out both its natural character and wonderful grain.
A functional piece of antique furniture in very good condition for its age. A rare survivor and most definitely a fine example of French design and craftsmanship.
Seat height is roughly 55cm.
