c. 1870 RARE & SUPERB FRENCH MINIATURE BRONZE ORMOLU TIMEPIECE CLOCK SWISS MOVT

Brief Description:

This is a rare, superb quality 19th-century Miniature French Gilt-bronze Ormolu and Marble 8-day Timepiece.

With a stunning drum style ormolu body with fruit finial.

The 8-day Swiss movement, stamped 'Made in Switzerland'.

The whole is mounted upon the original marble or alabaster base, terminating in conforming bronze feet.

Note: It is a very fine quality timepiece that is in beautiful original condition.

However, the movement will require an overhaul as it has completely stopped working.

It was working fine, albeit it was running approximately 10 minutes fast per day.

We feel the excellent price reflects this mechanical imperfection.
