Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Early Georgian walnut furniture, produced predominantly between 1714 and 1760, is recognised for its refined proportions, rich timber figure, and balance between Queen Anne elegance and early Chippendale influences. Common features include cabriole legs, feather-banded drawer fronts, shaped aprons, and decorative brass hardware.

These tables were typically crafted with native English or imported European walnut veneers applied over pine or oak carcases. Secondary timbers inside drawer linings were commonly pine or oak, complemented by solid brass drop handles and iron lock mechanisms.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints, hand-sawn timber marks on secondary woods, uneven shrinkage line patination across veneer panels, and natural oxidisation on original brass drop handles and locks.

In corporate or residential interiors, pair rich timber tones with neutral wall palettes and structured modern artwork above the piece. Using an antique side table in an entry hallway or lounge nook creates contrast against clean, minimalist architecture.

Apply a high-quality natural beeswax polish twice yearly along the direction of the wood grain to protect the veneer patination. Keep the item away from direct radiators, heating vents, and prolonged direct sunlight to prevent timber movement or bleaching.
