George III Antique Newcastle Silver Caster, Langlands and Robertson 1782

Description

A beautiful and rare George III Newcastle silver sugar caster. As usual with Newcastle silver the hallmarks are that of London with Newcastle makers mark and a missing town mark. The makers John Langlands 1 and John Robertson 1 used this particular silver stamp between 1779 and 1791. Their partnership lasted for 17 years until 1795. This wonderful caster is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. There are hallmarks under the foot and part marks on the top. A stunning piece of English provincial silver and very collectable.

WEIGHT; 70 grams or 2.5 ozst approx.
