An exceptional pair of dessert plates from the celebrated Kerr & Binns period of Worcester, dating to the 1850s.
Rendered in the manner of Sevres, each plate features elegant scalloped edges highlighted in gilt, a finely painted bouquet of roses at the centre, and decorative Bleu Celeste borders adorned with hand-painted butterflies and botanical cartouches.
The central bouquets of pink roses are especially beautiful, painted in fluid ‘wet’ enamels.
Marked to reverse with iron-red Kerr & Binns Worcester stamp, circa 1852–1862.
Dimensions: 23.5 cm diameter
Condition: Excellent with light stacking wear to the cavetto gilt only. No damage or restoration.
