Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Chinese export porcelain meat drainer is a perforated ceramic insert produced in China during the 18th and 19th centuries specifically for Western markets. Placed inside a matching platter, it allowed liquid to separate from cooked roast meats during service.

Qianlong period ceramics were crafted from kaolin clay and painted by hand using cobalt oxide underglaze blue before receiving a clear glaze and high-temperature firing. Drainage holes were manually pierced into the soft clay body prior to the firing process.

Authentic Qianlong export porcelain typically features hand-painted underglaze blue patterns, minor glaze irregularities, and unglazed foot rims showing refined white clay. The cobalt blue exhibits subtle tonal variations resulting from hand application.

An antique ceramic drainer can be displayed upright on a plate stand upon a sideboard, incorporated into a gallery wall arrangement of blue and white ceramics, or arranged on open kitchen shelving.

18th-century porcelain should be washed by hand using warm water and mild liquid soap, avoiding abrasive sponges and extreme thermal shock. Ensure individual drainage perforations are fully dried with a lint-free cloth.
