Sold by: Leeds Antiques

A Georgian period, Chippendale design small walnut and parcel gilt fretwork wall mirror or pier-glass, dating from the early 19th century. This wall mirror with well figured walnut veneered fretwork frame, an oblong mirror plate with a moulded inner border, the crested top centred by Hoho bird cartouche, and shaped apron. Wood panelled back fitted with chain for hanging. The mirror glass appears to be original, as there is some unevenness to the surface, the edges appear hand-cut, and there is a small yet pleasing amount of foxing to the plate.
