Brief Description:
'John Lynn' (fl. 1828.1848).
The wonderful and fastidiously executed study portrays a small fishing boat with the skipper and his crew attempting to moor in very choppy seas.
The small coastal fishing village, with its period wooden Windmill, can be seen as a hive with bustling activity.
The work is signed and dated lower right corner 'J. Lynn 1832'.
This marvellous painting was probably a preparatory sketch for one of Lynn's larger Oil Paintings that he was often commissioned to paint.
Mounted within a later good quality glazed and gilt moulded frame.
