A mid 18th century oak miniature coffer of attractive, panelled and waisted form.
The twin plank, detachable lid has a moulded edge and retains its original wooden strut hinges.
The two boldly-shaped and fielded, ogee arched panels above a single, overlapping drawer and a shaped frieze.
The front corners have a simple chamfer.
The brassware is old but not original.
The colour is a deep honey but there is an absence of patina due to a “refinish” around a century ago.
West Wales, probably Carmarthenshire or Cardiganshire, circa 1750-1780.
