Hans Temple studied at the Vienna Academy, his teachers were Hans Canon and Heinrich von Angeli, later he went to Paris, where he was trained by Mihály Munkácsy for two years. The main field of the painter were portraits of contemporary well-known artists in the vicinity of her studio. For example, he painted the sculptor Viktor Tilgner while working on the Mozart monument (Vienna Castle Garden) and his teacher Munkácsy in his studio while working on his painting ''Christ before Pilatus''.
