An elegant George III, Sheraton period harewood veneered and marquetry inlaid pembroke table; the butterfly shaped top crossbanded in tulipwood and inlayed to the centre with a Neo-classical pattera and with acanthus and harebell sprays to the corners of the top; the frieze, with a drawer to one end, is inlaid with an anthemion to the centre and with honeysuckle sprays to the corners; raised on slender, square tapering legs which are inlaid with oval paterae to the top of the leg with trailing harebells below and terminate in unuusual brass cap castors.

This Georgian pembroke table is a beautiful example of the finest Sheraton furniture. The sophisticated Neo-classical marquetry reflects the influence of Robert Adam and William Chambers on fashionable Georgian furniture. The harewood, sycamore which has been stained dark green, has a lovely striped figuring and retains a great colour and patination.
