LTANTIQUES.CO.UK has dated this Victorian Walnut Library Armchair to the 1870s.

The frame boasts elegantly turned walnut spindle supports along the sides of the arms, extending from the padded armrests down to the seat rail, forming a balustrade-style structure. The arm terminals are beautifully carved with tightly scrolled volutes.

Below, the chair stands on bold turned front legs with carved details and brass casters, the rear legs are gently splayed and echo the refined curvature of the overall form.
This armchair would have originally graced a gentleman’s library or study, combining both comfort and stature.
