Description

A very pretty fine Royal Worcester porcelain pedestal cup and dished saucer, the cup with a delicate bifurcated rope twist handle with moulded acanthus leaf terminal. Beautifully painted with autumnal floral sprays of vetch, heathers, ferns, ivy and what look like bluebells, so slight artistic licence being employed. The handle is decorated with gilt leaf accents and both pieces are finished with a gilt dentil rim. Factory marks impressed to both pieces, and the saucer also has pattern number 8173 painted to the reverse. c.1878-1880.

The cup measures 6.9cm (2 11/16") high and 8.2cm (3 1/4") rim to rim and the saucer measures 13.8cm (5 7/16") wide.

In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minimal handling wear.
